So it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago, and Ben had planned to buy me a Macro lens for my Canon EOS 550D (aka 'Lamagoo'). But we found out that they're around $500!!!! AHH! Lol. So I went looking for the best one to get, if I was going to spend that kinda money I wanted to get the right lens!
I ended up asking Evan over at billyunderscorebwa on Deviantart about Macro lenses, because he takes AMAZING Macro shots!
He told me he doesn't even use Macro lenses and sent me over to his tutorial on Reverse Macro. I'd already tried this once and failed, but I decided to give it another try. And it worked!!!!! I went straight on ebay to get a reverse stabilizer, so I don't have to hold the lens and the camera all the time. $6 later, I've saved around $490!!
So, the moral to my story? There are no stupid questions, just stupid people - me being one of them lol! So don't be stupid, ask questions and you may find yourself saving a heap of money and learning something new! :P
Here's my first 'Reverse Macro' shot:
It's the inside of a glass paperweight by the way, I think I've posted one of my old shots of this paperweight before.
I'll be back later with a post about Molgaban's 2nd birthday!
